The Great Santa Paws Preparations...

Hello and festive greetings to all my fur-friends!

Well what a busy time of year it is!

I'm sure, like me, you're all madly indulging in the Christmas spirit:

Catching up with friends

Not sure if this is a fur-friend or a furry mop....?!

Enjoying festive food

Nothing more festive than eating an antler.. I'm assuming it's reindeer antler!

And of course, practicing the perfect pre-Santa slumber

Hee hee... Santa will never notice I've kept one eye open...

This will be my second Christmas, and although I don't remember much of my first one, I could never forget the amazing gift that Santa left me last year!

Can you believe it?! A giant, edible candy cane!!!

Well ever since mum told me it's nearly Christmas time again, I've naturally been waiting for my giant candy cane to arrive...

But strangely, it hasn't?!

Instead, over the last week, some bizarre looking intruders have been appearing all over my house, invading my happy home!

What the heck are these things?!

These wooden star people don't look very friendly...

And neither do these winged weirdos...
Even more infuriatingly, all these new arrivals, have been placed JUST out of my reach...

I can see it, but I can't reach it...

How am I supposed to get up there and eat - I mean greet - these new arrivals?!

At first I was incensed, and naturally engaged in a full day's sulking.

Sulking... and hugging my teddy... but mainly sulking...

But then Mum told me the intruders are not permanent visitors (thank goodness!), but are actually special decorations that will help us to prepare for Santa's arrival.

Well I'm sorry mum, but I don't think Santa would want to share a space with these freaky, long-haired creatures...

Don't look so smug, I can see you're up to no good...

And what did the pot plant ever do wrong to you?!

Poor guy, I know what it's like to be dressed up in silly outfits...

But aside from the disappointment in my mum's interior decorating...

There were some very welcome arrivals this week -

Christmas Cards from my Blogville friends!!!

Open it, open it, open it!

Woohoo!!!
Can you believe, I've already received TWO Christmas cards from my friends!

Two cards!!!

This one is from Lassie and Benji!

And this was the inside of Abby Lab's card!!

Well naturally they took pride of place in our living room...

These look much better than mum's silly decorations!

And now I'm hoping for many more of my fur-friends' cards to arrive..

So I can use them to cover up all of mum's awful decorations... and make sure Santa Paws isn't afraid to stop by my place again!!

Hurry up Santa!! I'm waiting...

Until next time!

"...because there's nothing minor about being a Morris..."

    1. Ha ha yes I definitely recommend the one eye sleep trick! It's also good for keeping an eye on your pawents and making sure they don't eat food without you getting involved! 😂
Lots of licks, your good friend Morrie!

  2. Morrie, a word of advise from your elder - the best way to enjoy Christmas festivities is to embrace the fact that there will be indignities involved (dare I mention antlers?) but on the whole its worth it for the treats.

    1. Hmm, well I certainly appreciate the warning but I can tell you there will be no antlers on me anytime soon!! (And don't give mum ideas... 😬)
But I LOVE the sound of all the treats... I really hope Santa Paws dishes out the goodies!!!

Mum says eating a tennis ball was not so good, so I may not get one this year :( But I hope she's wrong.. I'm sure Santa knows that deep down I'm a good guy!

  7. Morrie it looks like you are doing a great job getting ready for Christmas. I know the decoratons are a bother but they will be back in their box and not bothering you soon enough.

    1. You are probably right.. but it is rather annoying when Pawents put items that are obviously meant to be chew toys just out of reach!! Mum can be very silly like that...

  8. We put up our tree this weekend with the help of friends and their pups. Beckett and Keltic were far more interested this year, maybe the excitement of having company.

  9. You do high fives? We don't do tricks, but if we got a bone like that, we'd do them. So the cards are rolling in. Be sure to keep track of how many YOU get compared to the peeps....Christmas fun.

  11. Wow! That was a huge yummy candy cane! Did you eat it all up yet? We have one of those candle-go-round things too! We're going to light it on Christmas Eve when our Oma comes to visit. I haven't seen any strange squeaky toy-like decorations yet. As you know, in my house, all squeaky toys should be remanded to me for de-squeaking and stuffing removal! Have a great Holiday!

    1. Yes it was a HUGE candy cane!! But don't worry I gobbled it all up :)
Mum hasn't lit the candle-go-round thing yet but it has some interesting wooden people on it that I'd quite like to chew... so maybe mum is saving it to give to me?!
      Have a wonderful holiday!

  18. Hi Morris. Abby Lab helped me find your blog. You know us terriers have to stick together, so I dropped by to say hi. I like your blog a lot, so I asked Mommy to hit the follow button. We'll see. She doesn't have much luck with following anything but Wordpress blogs. You met a puli! Cool! (Mommy told me what it was.) Oh, and watch out for those trolls. At least they aren't those evil elfs that have been popping up this time of year. *play bows* Xena

I did not put my addy on the Christmas list this year but I have been sending my e-card to friends. I did not see an e-mail addy for you in your profile so I could not send you my card but I sure wish you a SantaPaws sack fill of goodies.
