The cone of shame

Well hello there!

Please excuse me for not being my normal chipper self today... and for hiding under the table as I write today's entry.

Please don't look at me

As you can see, despite my best efforts, mum and dad have left me trapped in the plastic Cone of Shame.

I have no idea what I've done to deserve this treatment, but it has been hell.

Mum keeps saying:

"Well you shouldn't have eaten that tennis ball."

But I can only assume my parents don't love me anymore.

Yes. I am sulking

Over the past days I've been subjected to all sorts of nasty tablets,

and been kept indoors - imprisoned in a pen all day long.

As if that wasn't bad enough, I've even suffered the indignity of having to try and eat with the Cone of Shame on:

At times mum and dad have carried me outside, telling me to:

"Get some fresh air."

I'll give you some fresh air

But I've refused to move, just sitting there sadly, staring at the grass and shivering violently as my shaved, exposed tummy feels the full brunt of the cold.

And no - putting my favourite blankie on me does not help

All in all, it's been a miserable time.

M.I.S.E.R.A.B.L.E

But last night I did manage to find some joy...

When I taught mum a thing or two about making me wear the stupid Cone of Shame -

Hee Heeeeeeeee!!!

Until next time!

"...because there's nothing minor about being a Morris..."

    1. Yes, in hindsight maybe eating the tennis ball wasn't the greatest thing I've ever done.. but it was quite tasty... ;)

  7. That does NOT look like fun. Plus it makes you look like a martini glass. We hope you heal up soon and can get rid of it forever.

    1. Hee hee... a martini glass?! That's very funny :) But it's also quite tough to move around in - I saw a possum up a tree the other day and as I went to chase it I smacked the cone straight into the trunk of the tree :(

  8. Sorry about the cone - but soon you will be healed and it will be gone!!! no more eating tennis balls!

  9. We can sure see you are suffering! What about if your mom put a onesie on you, would that work? What about one of those soft cones? Of course if she would just feed you some steaks you'd bee too busy to bother your surgicals!

And that's a great idea about feeding me steaks.. excuse me for a moment - I have to go and tell her this right now!!!

  10. Woof, Morrie! I'm sorry you have to wear that cone. I've been there a few times. Be sure to milk it whole you have the chance! (Your mum doesn't read these comments, right?) Whimper and whine and run into things. Your mum and dad will feel guilty and give you yummies!

I wanted to follow your blog, but I see the evil Mr. Google has his sticky hands all ovfur this place now, and he thinks I'm my mommy. Do you know a way I can follow you as me?

    1. Hi there Hershey!
I sure am milking it (and I'm already reaping the rewards with lots of extra treats ☺️).
It's funny you said that about following my blog - I've had the same issue where I've wanted to follow other blogs but evil Mr. Google thinks it's mum and not me!! To be honest I really don't know how to fix it - maybe you can subscribe by email instead? Hopefully some of our other friends can help with this!
Lots of licks, your new friend Morrie

    2. Mommy did put her e-mail in the box, since I don't have my own. Mr. Google needs to keep his nosey out of doggie bizness!

    3. That makes sense Hershey! I agree that Mr Google shouldn't be involved in our private pack time!!

  11. Oh Morrie, we have just read about your time with the tennis ball. Our Angel Ciara could destroy a tennis ball in no time at all. Mom worried so about her eating the pieces, so now no tennis balls are allowed here. We are so sorry you had to have surgery and now have to wear the cone of shame. Hopefully you will heal quickly. All paws crossed.
